Julie Kay Stallcup - Dance Educator, Choreographer, Entrepreneur & Coach

Julie Kay Stallcup has been immersed in the world of dance since the age of 12. Growing up in North Little Rock, Arkansas, she quickly discovered her passion for performing and teaching, which has fueled her lifelong career.

After high school, she began performing professionally in Branson, Missouri with the Kirky VanBurch Magic Show before moving on to Las Vegas, where she danced as a showgirl for American Superstars. Her journey then led her to Los Angeles, where she performed in TV shows and short films, choreographed for the Miss Burbank Pageant, and owned Revolution Dance Center for 15 years, shaping thousands of dancers’ lives.

Julie Kay has been a convention teacher for Hollywood Dance Jamz and currently serves on faculty with LA Dance Magic, where for the past eight years she has specialized in trailblazing programming for dancers ages 4–7. She has also taught for Dance the Magic, Rhee Gold, Dance Teacher Web Live, Dance Masters of America (Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma), CLI Conservatory, Dance Teacher Summit, and the Dance Educators Collective.

Her work has given her the privilege of teaching and choreographing for high-profile artists and actors including Billy Ray Cyrus, Finneas, Billie Eilish, Tinashe, Viola Davis, Julia Butters, and Liesl Lafontaine.

Alongside her husband Darrell, she co-founded Julie Kay’s Studio Owner Mastermind, a platform dedicated to educating and empowering dance teachers and studio owners to run more effective classrooms and thriving studios.

In addition to her national teaching and leadership, Julie Kay continues to share her love for dance locally, teaching two days a week at Dance Dynamics in Arkansas. She is also the co-creator of Tap Roots, a groundbreaking app designed to give teachers and dancers easy access to tap dance training and resources.

Certified as a Life Coach, Julie Kay blends her passion for dance with mentorship and personal development, guiding dancers and educators not only in technique but also in confidence, mindset, and leadership.

With her signature energy, experience, and heart, Julie Kay continues to inspire dancers, educators, and communities everywhere she teaches.

Beyond the Studio

A life grounded in Family and Purpose

In 2020, it was with these same values that together they decided to sell the studio and move back home to Julie Kay’s hometown in Arkansas. Surrounded by her brothers, Julie Kay and Darrell raise their three beautiful children Jett, Gage and Zeta.

Community & Impact

Making an Impact where it matters most

Close to her heart are her many service projects including I CAN! of Arkansas,, teaching dance for differently- abled dancers and an advocate for Luv Michael, a virtual volunteer program for autism. Every month you will find the Stallcup family volunteering and feeding hundreds of families at the Ronald McDonald House. Anyone who knows Miss Julie Kay would agree, her arms are always open and she is ready to give back 100%

Professional Background

A Career Built on real experience

Professionally, Julie Kay performed as a Las Vegas showgirl at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino in the hit show “American Superstars,” a magician’s assistant in the Kirby Van Burch Magic Show in Branson, Missouri. She was a member of the Dance Team for the American Basketball Association and a dancer in the Latin American Music Awards for Maluma.

Today, she is a renowned adjudicator at competitions and conferences across the country including LADM, Encore Performing Arts and others. Julie Kay is on the boards of United Dance Merchants of America, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Arkansas Dance Network and a member of SAG/AFTRA

Her Philosophy

Julie Kay is deeply grateful for the opportunities she’s been given and is passionate about helping others create a life and career they love. Her ambition is to guide and support teachers and studio owners to create joy within their life, find balance, share the gift of dance and remember to always “Hold the Vision and Trust the Process.”
